Search Engine Problem

    Hi Guys (again)

    This one has me puzzled but I'm sure one of you may have an answer. My mate's brought his laptop round with problems-he wasn't running any AV software.

    His problem was that no search engine would actually return a result :confused
    I've never seen that before but hey-ho. I have run Spyware Doctor which found 9 threats, most minor, except virtumonde-T which it appears to have removed.
    I then ran Housecall (couldn't search for it so copied the URL from my pc). That only found 1 low risk Trojan and cleaned it.

    The problem still persists though, no search engine will work although all favourites in IE or bookmarks in firefox will load straight away.

    Any ideas??

    Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
