Hi-I have been having problems with my Dell Laptop and my IT person advised me to download Spybot Search and Destroy, which I did. He then advised me to click on the "Search for Updates button", as well as the "Check for Problems" button and I can't find either.

I ran a search and found some links and downloads, but no buttons. Do you know what I have to do?

    Thanks for your help!

Your IT guy wants you to download Spybot, double click on it to install it, than open the program. Inside the Spybot program there will be a "Search for Updates" button to get the latest definitions for Spybot. There will also be a "check for problems" button so that you can try to locate any malicious software on your system.

Another easy program to use for this is Ad-Aware. Just remember to "check for updates" as well.

    Good luck.

Thanks for replying. I try opening the program, but nothing happens. I go to START, then ALL PROGRAMS, and then click on the Spybot Application, but nothing happens. The hourglass appears for a second and then disappears. Any ideas as to what is wrong?
