Since a Microsoft update earlier this week, I noticed my HD is running a lot. I opened Task Manager and it showed SearchFilterHost, SearchIndexer and SearchProtocolHost were active. I also notice it doing this after performing a CCleaner scan. Is this anything to be concerned about? Is there something in CCleaner that gets deleted, the the computer has to do the Search functions again? Is there anything in CCleaner that should or shouldn't be checked?

My OS is Windows 7 64-bit

Are you running the latest release of CCleaner? I know at one time, under Applications tab > Windows > MS Search - if you had that checked, it was deleting files that it shouldn't and corrupting the Index cache. Window's Event Viewer logs confirmed this.
As far as I know, this was rectified a couple of builds ago, but I just leave this setting unchecked.

Thanks for the tip on MS Search. I'll try unchecking it. BTW, my version of CCleaner is 3.16.1666 (64-bit)
