search is blank

HI,

I noticed the other day that I can no long use the search compaion. I have seen several articles regarding this issue, however none of them worked.

This is a server 2003 enterprise with R2. It is not connected to the inetnet in any way so this is not cause by spyware,virus, worm, and all the other nasties. All cd's, dvd's thumb drives etc are check for viruses. The servers have antivirus installed and are updated daily.

These included:
- Re-installing the search companion
- running the sfc /scannow command
- re-registering the following dll's:
- jscript.dll
- srchasst.dll
- urlmon.dll
- shom.ocx
- following the procedures here

I have checked the event logs, nothing. I have even gone so far as to copy the files from a working server (exact same os) to that server. It's not a patch because I have the same patches installed on a working server and a non-working server.

I have not called mother microsoft because I do not have any support calls left.

This one has me stummped. I'm puzzled as to why search works on some boxes but not others.
