Searching Flashlight

Hello,
I have a huge problem on my computer. I was cleaning off a virus and deleted the file that searches. I cannot remember which virus it was. I didn't make a backup (I know I am kicking myself now) and the system restore will not go back that far. When I click on My Computer it gives me the searching flashlight. Also when I am trying to save a file it takes a few minutes for it to bring up the drives. And I can only find websites by doing a search on the internet, meaning I cannot just type in the URL in the address. Any help on this would be great. Thanks!
