    Hi!

I just bought myself a brand new HP Pavilion m9162.ac-a
The computer came with Vista, but I changed it to XP right away.

Now, I'm having trouble finding the right driver to my internal wireless card.
The chpset driver only activated my LAN.

My motherboard is ASUS M2N68-LA and the
Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

    Please help me!

    Thanks.

According to ASUS your board has a PCI Realtek RTL8201N 10/100 Mbps LAN PHY device.
    According to Realtek:
ASUS only has Vista drivers on its site.

And around and around and around and around ...

    Sorry

    Oooops.
I think I misread your post.
You say you did get the LAN working but it is the wireless receiver that needs drivers?
    Is that correct?
It looks like Realtek says it is driverless.

Welcome to Major Geeks. I just spent the past 25 minutes scouring the internet for any detailed info about this PC. I couldn't find out who made the wifi adapter, let alone finding the driver! The HP web site doesn't even have Vista drivers for your model (which I could NOT find anywhere by the way... I used 'm9162' as my search terms; are you sure you posted the correct model number?). Anyway, at this point there's a couple things you can do... the easiest would be to download and run 'Unknown Devices' which is a great little stand-alone program that will tell you the info about any (you guessed it) unknown devices. It will provide the manufacturer(s), chipset info, model/part numbers, etc. It has made my life much easier when trying to track down mystery drivers. The other option is to power down, unplug the power cord, open the case, pull the wifi card (if it isn't part of the motherboard) and record the info found on it: chipset make and number, manufacturer, model/part number, etc. Then pop it back in a fire up the PC. You may need to do this anyway in the unlikely even that Unknown Devices can't help.

Good luck! I hope this helps!
If you get the info from the wifi adapter and can't seem to find the driver, post the info here and we'll do our best to track it down for you.

When running 'Unknown Devices' on my HP m9162 my Wirleless card comes up as a Atheros Communications Inc AR5008 Wireless Network Adapter.
