Searchmyfiles Frustrations

I hope this is ok here. I search and similar posts that showed up but none helped me.

I downloaded SearchMyFiles (thus refer to as SMF) and I just cannot get this thing to work as it should. And I am a computer guy. The issue is that I will type what I need in each of the search boxes and none of them bring up what I am looking for. It will bring up other files in that same folder but not what I need.

Played with it last night and I am mad at it. I am running Win10 version at the bottom. ,my AgentRansack needed to be replace and was happy to find this. I need to always be able to search for files but also text, code and other things from inside.

I checked the settings by the help file.
Played with everything else.
Reset defaults with not luck.
I uninstalled and restarted
Re did all of the above.
Uninstalled again.
Shut down all of my security software then reinstalled.
Still nothing.
reset defaults.
Here I am.

I hope some wouldn't mind giving a touch of help.
