I have my master hard drive in sata 0 and a slave at sata 5. They both show up in bios, but in windows only the sata 0 hard drive shows. WhY?

If it's unformatted or not in NTFS or FAT file system windows won't see it.

There is no master and slave in the sata arrangement, you just have numbered sata ports.

    Post your operating system.

Go to control panel, admin tools, computer management, disk manager, does the drive show up? If so right click the raw partition and format it.

If it shows up in Disk Management, go to Explorer > Tools > Folder options > View tab and uncheck 'Hide empty drives ... '.

Satrow's method is much preferred if the drive isn't new and you'd like to keep the contents:-D
