Sad to see that Major Geeks still recommends "Secret Disk", claiming that it protects your sensitive files by creating a "hidden" additional drive on your c: disk. It definitely does not. I wrote to the people behind this site a few weeks ago, to warn them - and everybody else. I've found that simple free search software breaks the secrecy, and I asked them to test Secret Desk with Find My Files and Everything. Both gives me access to the "hidden" files. They even open the folders, and I can edit or delete the files they have found or access other files in the "hidden" part of c:. For the sake of avoiding misunderstandings: this happens when the Secret Disk software has not opened the so called additional drive, which needs a two tier access procedure, with PIN code and password. Of course Find My Files and Everything don't know my pin code and password.

I am a translator and sometimes I work with confidential texts that I receive encrypted or physically on a usb drive that the client delivers to me. That's why I thought "Secret Disk" was a good solution. Now I switched back to encrypting what I work on.

    My system is Windows 10.

If you have installed "Secret Desk", try Everything:
    https://www.voidtools.com/support/everything/indexes/

    or Find My Files:
    https://www.abelssoft.de/en/windows/helpers/find-my-files

If your results are different from mine, please answer here

I have also used Copernic for indexing. It does not break the secrecy.

Yeah the secret disk is not that secret. Mostly everyone in software knows this. But from normal people, they will never look for, and certainly never find, the secret disk. It's only hidden from normal viewing, not locked under a password. If you want something like that, then you need other software.
