Secure Boot Versus Legacy???

I bought my wife a new computer. She would only use it if it ran identically to her old computer, so I cloned her drive to a SSD and stuck it in the new computer. The new computer doesn't recognize it as a boot drive.
Someone here suggested changing the new computer from Secure Boot to Legacy. I did, and it worked fine.

Is there any downside to using Legacy? Boot time? Speed? Safety? Et cetera, et cetera?
I presume there is no way to get to Secure Boot...

I can just bag it and build the new computer to resemble the old if there is a potential problem, but I have come this far...

    Thanks

I just checked the old computer and it doesn't mention either, so I presume it only had Legacy. Perhaps that explains why the new computer required legacy.
