Security Center refuses to start

I recently cleaned out Antivirus 2009 using the majority of the malware removal programs on here from my computer, which disabled my original Security System (the virus, not the malware removal programs). However, even though I cleaned it out, my Security System refuses to start, and tells me I need to restart the computer to make it start. My McAfee On-access scanner also does not start up automatically when the computer turns on, even though I put the settings so that it should. I'm using a Windows XP. Help?

Oh yeah, I also ran the malware removal programs again after I cleaned out the virus to check if it the problem could be more malware lurking in my computer, but they always turn up blank.

If you want to start security center try this
click start> run > type. services.msc in the run box >hit ok>come down to security center and click start services, restart the computer and see if it is running then. Hopefully this will fix your problems. As far as mcafee hold on and someone will probably have a better idea on how to get that up and running.

    Hi

What I would suggest is while the majority of the malware will be off your PC now, there maybe some components left (which is why some of the applications run like MGTOOLS has logs in which only an expert eye can find the malware components and many are not picked up by automatic scanners so need manual removal) which can still be disabling your other security applications, so best to re-run the Read Me guide in the malware forum and save the logs, then start a new thread in the malware forum explaining what malware you had and attach the logs, the malware experts will review the logs and issue you some manual removal instructions if needed and then give you all clear, if they do and yoru still cannot get these applications to work re-post in this thread with link to your malware thread.

Then we can try and get these going, but best to be ruled malware free before troubleshooting.
