Security Question

    I am working through the "protect yourself from Malware" thead and got to the users and password part and as far as I can tell there is only one "user" for my computer. The guest account has been disabled (always was) so my question is this: If I have an HP Administrator account should it show up? And How do I change it so that we all use one account but NOT the admisistrator one?
    I did look in the users folder in control panel but as usual windows is most unhelpful. :( I also don't want to lose anything we are using now, mostly. So if someone could please point me in the right direction, I would be most greatful.

    If I stuck this in the wrong area I am sorry, I did check the other areas, but didn't find anything else it would seem to go.

    The account that is actually named Administrator will only show in safe mode. Accounts that have administrator priviledges will show in both safe mode and normal boot mode. Restricted user accounts (non-administrator) will only show in normal boot mode.

    DO NOT use the same account for all users. That is a very bad idea because you will all overwrite/change each others settings and if one account gets infected, you are all going to be down at the same time. Only one account (like maybe yours) should have administrator priviledges and the others should all be restricted accounts. You should all have your own accounts with your own passwords and the passwords should all be different. Only the administrator should create the accounts and set the passwords for them. This will prevent them from doing things that you do not approve of. Like installing software and many other things. You can also establish security policies that control what the other accounts can do.
