Tried running Read & Run with the following results:
    Cannot access Add/Remove Program.
Couldn't install CCleaner or anything else - error message says 'installer is infected with worm lsas.blaster.keyloger".
Anything I try to download will not install.
Cannot bring up Task Manager or run cmd.exe.
    System Restore won't load.

Any suggestions at all? This is not an emergency so I can play with it for awhile, but I could also reinstall if need be.

    Thanks in advance.

    Please try doing the below:

Download and save the below to your PC (save it anywhere you can find it. The Desktop is fine). Then doube click on it to run it.

    AVPFind.bat

It should take a couple minutes to run. You will see a black command prompt window while it is running and it should close when it is finished. Once it finishes, attach the c:\avplog.txt file that is will hopefully create as long as the malware does not block the batch file from running.

    Now download and Run exeHelper

    • Please download exeHelper to your desktop.
    • Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
    • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
    • Post the contents of log.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com)

Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Also please try running the below online scan:

    http://www.superantispyware.com/onlinescan.html

Reboot immediately after scanning if it finds and removes anything. Let me know if anything was found. It does not save a log.

Then try running these instructions: Using MGtools

Attach the below logs when finished with all of the above:

    • C:\avplog.txt - from AVPfind
    • log.txt - from exeHelper
    • C:\MGlogs.zip - from MGtools

The C:\ assumes that drive C is you Windows boot drive. If you boot from another drive, then use the correct drive letter above.

Downloaded AVPFind and ran it. The black box appeared for about a second and disappeared. Log is attached, but appears to be empty.

Downloaded EXEHelper and ran it. Again, the command box appeared for only about a second. Log is attached but also appears empty.

SAS online scan would not complete. I got the popup that said SAS is infected with worm lsas.blaster.keyloger, followed by a BSOD referencing SPCMDCOM.sys, then the pc rebooted itself.

Downloaded MGTools but it wouldn't run. It extracted itself, but nothing after that. No log was generated.

Awaiting further instruction. Thanks for the help.

We may need you to do some manual removal first. Be aware that this is a potential credit card info stealer. You should contact your bank as well as your credit card companies.

See if you can find any of these files:

    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “00308937″
    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SystemSecurity2009

I don't have any of the referenced files, but there is a folder in Application Data labeled 09302418 with an executable inside that has the same number. I tried to delete it and was denied access.
There was a shortcut on the user profile desktop that referenced the 09302418.exe file. There was an identical shortcut in the user profile start menu. I was able to throw both away.

I couldn't run regedit to check the registry.

What do you think of bleepingcomputer? Is this worth a try?

If you can run it, definitely!

We can also try doing a removal with Avenger if you cant do the other.

You may have to download to another computer and transfer via cd......however, I will give you the basic script and you will need to put in the exact path to the files and folders.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract+ avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * -Do not change any check box options!!
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.
    * Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    * Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

    Tell me how you progress.

I tried to run the bleepingcomputer routine and it wouldn't work. In the process, I got a BSOD and when it rebooted, SecurityTool wasn't running. I was then able to delete the 09302418 folder. I was also able then to regedit and deleted the following key - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\09302418. None of the others were present.

After another reboot I started Read & Run with the following results:

SAS downloaded and installed but wouldn't start. I could see in Task Manager that the process started but after several seconds it terminated.

MB downloaded but wouldn't install; got the following error message twice:
    "Unable to execute file c:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
    Create process failed; code 2.
The system cannot find the file specified."

Combofix downloaded and seemed to run successfully. It rebooted once during the process and there was a dll error that flashed up but it did generate logs which are attached.

RootRepeal downloaded and run successfully. Logs attached.

MGTools downloaded and run successfully. Logs attached.

    Thanks.

Why isnt there any AV program on this machine? Is it because you have so little RAM:
    Total Physical Memory 256.00 MB
    Available Physical Memory 69.00 MB

Try totally uninstalling both SAS and MBAM.

Now use windows explorer to find and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\veyasuya

Now run CCleaner to remove any left overs.
Now download the latest versions of both SAS and MBAM and install them. Tell me if they run.

Attach the logs if they do as well as a new log for MGLogs.zip after running the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file.

This is an old pc from my wife's business. I've already 'discussed' with her the lack of AV. My plan is to add RAM and install AV as soon as I get it cleaned up.

Everything seemed to install and run. Logs are attached.

    Thanks for your help.

Good to know. Your logs are clean. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore ato create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
