    Hi

Keeping your Windows version and any 3rd party software fully upto date and having a read of this How to Protect yourself from malware!

From the guide above as well as those you have mentioned, I would install a browser tool like Spywareblaster to help block known bad websites and links from actually opening via your browser on your PC.

Other that that the best security tool, is you, as the end user you have the power to safe surf and download.

Checkpoint software is not aimed at Home users; it is for enterprise. The offering they have for home users is a Zone Alarm Security Suite which currently is not the best software to run on a home computer.

Follow DavidGP's link for software appropriate for a home user.

    Re: Wermgr.exe

Wermgr.exe is a executable file (a program) in the Microsoft Windows operating systems. The file name extension.exe is the abbreviation for executables.

But if you are getting popups sounds to me some thing is trying to run it self might want to give your system a good scan.

Some malware camouflages itself as wermgr.exe.

    Run threw these steps below.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

Then go to the malware forums.

And from what it sounds from your first post you did not have any security??.

Bye the way are you able to take a picture of the popup for us?? and post it.
