Not looking forward to this season...Stay safe Chris and Abby, you guys are definitely more in the danger zone than Tallahassee is.

Stock up on Spam Star. Not only does it keep on the shelf for YEARS, but you can always use it here on the forum once hurricane season is over. ;)

Actually, it's being tested as an alternative heatshield for the CEV.:D

I'm way more worried about a hurricane hitting the Cape area, as it juts so far out into the Atlantic compared to the rest of the coastline. And the jet stream always seems to go right over the roof. Here at home, even though we are only a mile from the ocean, we are about 60 miles northwest of the coastline base, and 99% of the time the winds are headed the other way. It's a bit of a built-in safety net, but not taken for granted. The last hurricane to directly hit here was in 1964, but we did have to evacuate in 1999 until Floyd hung a Ralph and hit North Carolina.

i've never been in a hurricane as i am inland near Buffalo NY, but we get the leftover crap that you guys get the front of. Because i never been in one, i'd have the curiousity of what its like but i'm sure if i had i'd be saying f*** this! I guess its like looking at a tornado, its beautiful until it hits your house...... then they suck

With the added bonus that a tornado lasts 1-2 minutes at most, whereas a hurricane lasts for several hours.

then you have the tornado spun from a hurricane. That'd suck especially if your house was already knocked over.

I lived in ORLANDO in 1964 and I don't remember any hurricane. what was it's name? I moved to Beaufort a week after Camille. That was a mess.
