No doubt one of many forthcoming Vista Operating System websites from MS, has videos to some of the features 3rd parties are making of this OS.

any thoughts on the new version? i can't get beta 2 to install (yes, my copy is legit), but the february release seems...well...ok at best. i'm installing on a notebook and it won't install the wireless or video drivers.

Getting better Ace, with each build, the x64 is a pain with some drivers noteably sound drivers.. each time, x86 is fine, finds all drivers out of the box.

which build are you using? which route did you get it from, WinHEC, MSDN, TechNet or MSConnect ( reason asking this question some versions available early to download ended up being "unstaged" versions and were a pita to install )? in ISO form or original DVD? x64 or x86 version?

    How old is the notebook?

if ISO, burn at no more than 2x speed... I have trashed many a DVD forgetting to burn at lower speeds, always similar errors in the install stage while copying files to the HD.

Much changed since FEB builds so well worth getting the latest installed if you can.

Let's hope they sort out Windows Defender in Vista, because installed in XP, it's a POS.

Micro$$oft AntiSpyware was far less buggy.

BTW, great link Halo, many thanks.

Works fine for me on XP apart from the strange issue of the updates in which I have to delete the update MSI each time, but it works, which issues you having?

In Vista its fine, but I guess as Defender was written with Vista in mind and ported to XP it should do, not saying its all roses as last build their was a service to do with Defender that didnt start but it updates perfectly and runs ok.
