I am sure most of you know that car cd players are self loading, you just slide the disk in without a tray. I was wondering if it is possible to buy those for a PC. I've been search but I can't seem to find it. If anyone knows if it can be purchased and where please let me know. Thanks.

I don't know where they're sold, but I've got one here. It came in a pc I don't use anymore, and it no longer works. Apart from that, it's quite nice. :) It's a Pioneer DVD-106S.

Alot of older PC's had CDROM drives like that but they've been (more or less) discontinued. People didn't like 'em because, if a CD got stuck, you couldn't use the ol' paper clip poke to extract the CD, and they weren't all that reliable (IMHO).

You may be able to find an older one on EBay. Keep in mind it will probably be 16x or less.
