Server Busy

I have been using Quickbooks Premier Contractor's Edition. It has been working fine for over a year. Now I open it a window pops up saying the "Server Busy- This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "Switch to' to activate the busy program and correct the problem" I went on other quickbook forums and found that I need to delete the startup short cut and go on the task manager and end task of qbdbupdate.exe. I have done both and the problem still exists hence why I am here. From the research I have done I do not believe this is a quickbooks problem. Please let me know any thoughts and hopefully solutions.
