Server Help.

Hello guys!

This may seem sad, I know, but my friend is p****** me off about it and it's how to create a minecraft server. I have all of it set up correctly and the only problem I'm having is that my router can't be pinged. That is my only problem, I can get CMD to ping my IP but a PortForwarding checker can't ping it and I believe that is the reason to why it can't be pinged. I have the BT HomeHub3 and it has the latest firmware because the HH3 needed the latest firmware as the PortForward didn't work before hand.

have you enabled the setting inside the router to let it be pinged?
if this is not done it will be invisible to the www

Using the new HomeHub3 interface by BT there isn't a setting which shows this, I've checked very tab, nothing.

Additional information:
I now have the server working, looks like the ping isn't needed, but I would still like to know if anyone has any idea? If you do not wish to waste time finding out then I'm more than happy for you to disband this thread, if you don't mind helping out, please keep feeling free to reply as I would like to know!

 

Could it be the firewall?
Just a side thought. In my one class we tried pinging each other and we had to drop our Firewall to be able to see each other. You could just poke a hole in the Server to let it do that. I could be completely wrong, just my thoughts.
