server problem

HI.
I need help with a server problem.
I might have deleted something by mistake.
I cannot get e mail from outlook express on the pop server, is says,Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail2.eircom.net', Server: 'mail2.eircom.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I cannot download updated for windows xp,I cannot use windows media.
Any Ideas would be great.
I ran all virus checks.
I ran advance window care.
When I start up the computer it keep telling me I have a server problem.

I cannot figure out this problem.......I can use the internet but when I open the outlook express it cannot find the pop server and will not retrieve e mails. Plus I cannot use windows update???????ANY HELP
