server reboot problems

I had 3 sci hard drives to go out. (I have 6 sci hard drives total) I replaced them and then rebuilt the raid. I reinstalled my linux operating system and now when it boots up it wants to boot from a floppy and does not recognize the hard drives.

Could this mean that my controller is bad?

I have a IBM server model 8671 series 328 (6ax)

I have went to the IBM site and the only thing I found was the support for the raid which I downloaded.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

sci, do you mean SCSI?

Can you go into the RAID BIOS when you boot the machine and see all of the drives and the RAID? Have you added any hardware since installing Linux?

 

If you are using SCSI are you sure that all the hardware terminations and device numbers are correctly set?
What drive is your Linux running off?
Please give more details of the original setup and how you think you have configured the replacement.

3 out of 6 of the scsi drives failed and my system crushed. I purchased and put in the 3 new drives--- I rebuilt the raid and it is seeing all the drive and saying online for them.

Still now when I reinstall the Linux software it goes through the motion of the install but in it comes time it take the cd out and it is to reboot ------ thats when it comes back up to showing a picture of a floppy abd drive on the screen like it wants me to boot off a floppy?

But someone said it could be the controller thats bad and I am just trying to see if anyone nows if they think this could be so.
