Setting up new sata system!

HI there i have the abit an7 mobo with serial ata on it.
I have 2 hard disks one is Western digital caviar 40gb 8mb cache 7200rpm
other hd is Western digital raptor 36gb 10000rpm 8mb cache serial ata drive.

I have 1gb mem (px2700) and an athlonxp 2600+.

Before i start i would like to say i know taht best way to set up is with having 2 serial ata drives on raid but atm i havent got that so what i need to know is best way to set up windows xp using my ide and sata as seperate drives. All tweaks and suggestions with installing etc would be appreciated.
