setting up outlook to connect to outlook exchange server?!?!?

Someone has asked me to setup their outlook to connect to their exchange server, not something I have done before, if I put the server name in and their user name it can't find the server? However if I ping the server it responds? Do I need to set it to connect via vpn or something? I spent ages trying to configure it with no luck...

http://www.slipstick.com is one place to start. Technet over at Microsoft.com is another. You also have to make sure that they are using a Windows OS that allows them to connect to a domain (ie Pro edition).

There is a lot of free info over at Microsoft.com and elsewhere, it is just that if you do something wrong, you can royally screw things up that they cannot use the machine, without you having to go back and do some work to correct.
