I am trying to load my Office 2007 on to my new computer Windows 7. I keep getting an error message that a file is missing and it removes the files already loaded. I can't seem to find a solution to the problem. Do you have any advice for me. I tried following some of the steps on the microsoft office page to no avail. please advise.

    Thank you,

    Wadda

    1. What file is missing?
    2. A bit more on exactly what steps you tried at the Iffice help page so we don't waste time having you do things that you already tried.
    3. What version of Office 2007 are you installing? Is it on a disk or did you receive a key, have to log in to a website and download the files from there?
    4. Windows 7 comes with Office 2010 starter http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/starter/
have you removed that so it does not interfere with the 2007 installation?

    My notes: should be 66332652-9c28-58b1-ao1f-c8b3b9a1e18e

you might want to view the thread to be sure you follow 32 bit versus 64 bit version of Office.

My notes: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957310 seems more like the Hresult applies to windows update and not a clean install of Office 2007.

I spent several days trying to resolve this problem to no avail. I now am between a rock and a hard place. I have the office 2007 program but cannot use it on my
Windows 7 computer. Don't know what else to do. The suite will not load any further than about 3/4 and then the error message. Spent 5 hours online with the tech support and still cannot use it.

Don't know if this is a problem but everytime I open my computer I receive a message there is an update pending. I download it but it just keeps coming up everytime the update is: Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)

    Download size: 5.6 MB

You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.

    Update type: Important

A security issue has been identified leading to MFC application vulnerability in DLL planting due to MFC not specifying the full path to system/localization DLLs. You can protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.
