I need to setup a pc to display my website of products in my store. I would like only my website to be available to the user and everything else disabled. Also if I can have ie maximized and not be able to be closed if possible.

So a computer in a store that a website is displayed and can't be closed or browsed to another site.

    Thanks in advance

    Greetings, daluder.

You could always display the site as local files and block access to the internet. I'm sure there are ways to manipulate host files, etc. to accomplish what you wish, but a local HTML website with no web access is a quick and simple solution.

The disability to close it may have to be performed through permissions, especially if you wish interaction within the website (opposed to just locking the display). I'll have to think about that one.

Just thought of something else: most browsers support the <F11> Full Screen mode, which hides the browser taskbar.

It's not going to stop someone from pressing <F11> to bring the browser out of Full Screen mode, and it won't stop a Ctrl-Alt-Del, but it might suffice for normal customer traffic, until we can come up with a better solution.

Thanks for the response. I forgot to mention that I will also have this in remote stores so making changes to the website Wouk make it alot easier.

I have seen this in stores before. A company website on a display that customers can go and browse. I have done some searching and haven't found a solution yet.

    Thanks again

Chrome goes quite some way towards what you want. Under Tools you will find 'Create application shortcuts...', which when selected creates a Chrome browser locked to the current site. You could have it permanently maximised by first using Restore Down and then dragging the screen edges to max size, though hopefully someone will come up with a more elegant solution than that.

No idea how you would go about preventing it from being closed, but if this is really important to your business then it might be best to use a professional web design service.
