Ok forget everything that I have posted earlier. As you may no I'm quite new to linux although I have experimented quite a bit, and have leaned a fair amount. What I wanted to get out of it is a http server, with php, and mysql.

I have a couple questions. What is the basic requirments for the above? I just want a simple website with a forum. Also What is the best OS, and software?

    Here is my linux specs:

    550 Mhz
    64 Mbytes of ram.

Public website? Call a professional buddy, its hard to keep secure and stay up, plus most likely your isp blocks incoming port 80 so you can't make it work normaly,

hehe, don't have any professional buddies, thats why I come here :). If it doesn't work it doesn't work, I just want to experiment anyway.

no call a professional like http://www.dreamhost.com/ or what not, that server will work for you at home, but internal network only.

I'd rather not spend any money on a webhost, besides I don't care if it only works locally, just want to experiment. Also my webhost doesn't block port 80, so It should work.

Ok, I have installed Apache2, and it seems to work, I have been to the test page. Now I lost, I'm trying to find the Apache2 folder but I have no clue where it is, is there a find command?

    Yes... type 'man find' ;)

I just checked my LAMP, and httpd.conf was found in /etc/apache2, FWIW (installed with Synaptic on Ubuntu Edgy Eft)

Ok, I've got apache2 configured the way I want it. I have just installed php4 from apt-get. How to I configure it to work with apache2?

Refer to PHP.net for the exact instructions.

IIRC, it should be as easy as including/uncommenting loadmodule directives in your httpd.conf file for the correct PHP dlls. (And of course, making sure that these files are accessible to the daemon!)
