    Hello-

Today, we have an issue with 'sfc /scannow'. It finds a corrupt file that it can't fix, and the store source copy is also corrupt. The file in question seems to relate to Internet Explorer- which is the latest IE11 version. Everything appears to be working fine, otherwise.

This is an OEM desktop computer, and is about 2 mos. old. OS is Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64 build 7601 (6.1.7601). HP does NOT offer a standalone OEM Windows disc, yet a 4 disc Recovery set, and a D:\Recovery_HP partition on the HDD.

The file in question is 'iesysprep.dll' and I can't find it anywhere in the Recovery options to extract and replace-probably highly compressed- I have already done 2 Recoveries on this system and it is time consuming and a pain in the gluteus maximus, to say the least.
Now, I do have a Windows 7 disc that I burned with ImgBurn from the Digital River download that Microsoft used to provide. That disc has been unlocked with the 'ei.cfg utility tool', and the hash values do NOT match what is installed on my machine, even though the builds are the same.

I have included here the log files for 'CBS.log', 'CheckSUR.log', and 'CheckSUR.persist.log'. The results on the latter two are interesting.

    CBS.log-

    CheckSUR.log-

    CheckSur.persist.log-

I would appreciate any constructive input on this matter. I am trying to make sure the OS is pristine so that I can migrate the C:\ and D:\ to an SSD, and then use this 1TB HDD for my Documents and Storage.

    Thank you, in advance-

Yes, I have identified 15 Updates that have proven to cause issues, and uninstalled them.

So, you saw the post at sysnative.com- there is one guy who appears extremely knowledgeable, however, he's also rather busy. No, the more the merrier on these topics for me- I can generally solve them myself with viable input.

    Thanks for your replies.

No, I don't even use IE. I am fond of Opera at the moment.
I really do not want to deal with HP any longer, unless there's a hardware failure. I believe there may be an issue within the HD 4600 integrated architecture in the CPU, and if I can validate it, HP has said they would send me a new i7-4770. I have a Devil's Canyon sitting here in the box that I plan to install once my other hardware components arrive.

    Thanks for the input.
