    I'm not sure when the deadline for ordering is...dummy me forgot to ask but I'll find out later today so will post back with that info. Chris told me to go ahead and order 10 boxes...so much for my waistline;)...LMAO Good thing these cookies keep exceptionally well in the freezer or I'd eat a whole box at one sitting.:eek: ;):D

    Hey Abby I wonder if you can ship those Internationally, it would be cool if grand-mother could give Granddaughter (Not your grandauther, sheesh Abby not enough caffeine this morn!!?), a big order and she could go back to her group and tell them she had orders from around the world, Cool huh. Don't see why you couldn't mail them Internationally, be kinda a neat thing for MG. If you can I will take five box's of the Little Brownies (Wife's on a diet and she's been so good, but misses her Chocolate):)

    Just want to say thanks to those ordering the cookies from a wonderful young girl. Lexie is my secret buddy and she's going to be thrilled at all the orders.

    Tell you what I'm going to do: whomever purchases the most boxes will receive a $100 Amazon gift certifcate from me. It's not a bribe, just a way of saying thanks for making a little kids' day. The only rule is you pay for what you commit to; if I end up buying 100 boxes of cookies 'cause people welch out, I'm gonna get testy.

    And anyone that places an order requiring international or other special shipping, we'll pay for it; no need to put Lexie's mom out over that. Abby's going to check with the Post Office regs and she'll take it from there.

    Thanks again...it means a lot to me. :)

    @ Lev...Thanks dearie! Will ask my daughter on the check and get back to you.:)

    @ BCGray...you want them you got them! :) Just got off the phone with the post office and they looked everything up...I can legally mail Girl Scout cokkies to Canada & the UK!:D

    @ Chris...you're something else...wuv j00 & thank you...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v173/star17abby/Smilies/hug.gif

    Hey Star at least for me, I fully intend to pay all charges really couldn't care less if the dang cookies cost twenty bucks a box (probable will knowing customs). Main thing is its for a good cause and it will bring some joy to a great kid, hey and my wife will know that I do really love her she's dying to get Chocolate but sticking to her diet.

    Again just my opinion, if I won the $100 Amazon Gift Certificate I would donate it to your girls group. (Hint, Hint, Hint to the rest of you):)

    Oh, I'm not worried about anybody in particular and I'm sure everyone here will have good intentions. If not, I'll just send the gift cert C.O.D. ;)

    There were a couple of peeps here in the past that talked the talk and when it came time to walk the walk, they would turn up lame.

    I thought about a change to the prize; I'll make it a $100 gift cert to the winners' choice of company they want to buy from, since folks interests here are so varied.

    @BCGray..I just got off the phone with Lexie; the cookies are twenty dollars a box. :D

    2 boxes each:
    Samoas
    Trefoils
    Tagalongs
    All Abouts

    PM me with info how to get you money and what it'll come to with shipping to Michigan. :D

    AbbySue is now officially my hero. :D

    I can't make up my mind on which ones to choose. Since most of those varieties are different over here, I'd better get one of each. I know everyone else will be 'taxing' them, so I'll make it 2(boxes) of each. I'll allow for (AUD's and P&P.) Oh darn it - there goes (AUD100). ;p

    Don't pre-order anything on my account buddy, wait 'till I send the Money Order. I got yer P.O. box somewhere (if it's the same as about March). I’ll ask around a bit, for some more sales. But like you said – No money = no cookies, LoL!

    ***P.S.:- It appears I've been unintentionally ignorant - I just noticed a few P.M's from ya (TNX man! ;) ) I'll be sure to reply A.S.A.P.... Sorry 'bout that). I've just installed new systems, servers and security measures. I guess I forgot to put the M.G url in. ~ Again, 'mucho sorry!' :rolleyes: :eek: :rolleyes: :eek: )

    Yeah, back at ya with the sentiments. Health slowly on the improve for me. Thanks for asking. :)

    ...(Hugs to Abby).

    Be a good excuse to send some other things I’ve had here for about a year, too. (Yes, I’m a “sad-o”, LoL!)

    LOL! So glad you're pleased I remembered Sgt. Tibbs!:D

    Will let you know about payment (you to BCGray) as soon as I know the specifics. My family is all hunkered down at my dad's house..they got hit with that storm that moved through the NE yesterday and lost heat, power, phone, etc. My dad has a generator system at his house that powers everything so of course that's where everyone is. Needless to say, they are snowed in and things are a bit crazy right now with everyone camped out in one place.

    Thanks for the orders... Lexie will be tickled pink! And I bet she's the only one in her troop that will have orders from all over...how cool is that?:D:D

    Take care all. :)

    Cookie drive is complete, she sold 94 boxes. I went ahead and ordered 6 more 'cause I wanted her to be able to say she sold 100 boxes; it sounds so much more impressive in the 9-year old community. :D

    Abby will tally the numbers and keep this thread updated, some folks have already sent their funds so she'll square it away. Thank you again to those that participated. :)

    Barry, you are the most-boxes-bought winner, let me know the company of your choice you'd like a gift certifcate from and it will be on its way directly. Thanks for your thoughtfulness...however, Lexie has voiced some concern for your waistline. :D

    On a quasi-related note, Abby wants me to pass on to those that have sent her PM's that she'll get to them tomorrow. She's been busy with some projects and just hasn't had the time to get to them. About all she's had time to do related to the board lately is dump spammers and profile pictures that aren't appropriate, but she hasn't forgot you folks.

  23. Sgt. Tibbs

    Sgt. Tibbs Ultra Geek

    I just need to know where to send a check and for how much (include shipping, you! ;)). It honestly never occurred to me to send a PM, I don't know why. Guess I'm brain-dead lately or something. Although I wasn't fussed. I knew after this thread that Abby loves me and knows I must have cookies. :D

  24. star17

    star17 MajorGeek

    And you moderate other forums?!? :D

    Abby's going to handle all the payment hoo hah, she'll be in contact with those folks that placed orders. I'm not expecting anyone to include shipping as that wasn't part of the original deal, but if anyone does I'll just forward the difference to the Keith Urban detox fund. :D

    Thanks a lot Chris (& Abby, Et al ):D.

    Just glad the money got wired through okay. Teresa might need her drivers licence for I.D., if cash not already picked up. So glad Lexie is getting a 'buzz' from all this.

    Gift Certificate can be to 'K-Mart' if that's okay with you, Chris, as they have K-mart stores over here as well, and it will 'prolly end up in some kind of Christmas charity, anyway.

    "Lexie has some concern for your waist-line". LoL!, actually, I personally, won't be eating too many as I've just spent Wed. and Thur. in hospital (for severe hypertension/stress). So looks like this dude will be getting slimmer, anyhow. Ah well, - such is life.

    I did shoot Abby a (very) quick P.M., but it was only a confirmation of money sent - so it's obsolete, now.

    Take care all, and have a great weekend!

    Catch ya, soon. :)

    Ouch. Take care of yourself Barry. Including getting more rest, which I'm sure they recommended, and I'm sure you've been short of for quite a while. While we don't get to chat as often as in years past, we're something of kindred spirits, in several ways. I'll keep you in my prayers.

    Since Teresa says that these freeze well, you can thaw them in small doses and not bust your diet too badly. Will probably last you until next year's drive. ;)

    I should talk about "rest". 5:00AM here, and I haven't managed any sleep yet tonight. Pain in the back of my neck/head has been shouting louder than the pain killers can muffle. Darn it. I can put up with a fair amount and cope during the day, but have a tough time sleeping with it. As you so aptly put it: Such is life.

    Take care my friend.

    Since Abby is still in New York, I thought I'd bring the peeps that sent cookie dough this way that funds have been received from G.T., Lev, Phantom, & BC Gray, so you folks are free to roam the country since you've sent your money. ;)

    There's still plenty of time to send the funds, so those of you not yet parted with your loot, don't sweat it. If you need an address, just PM me (yes, I just realized my PM box was full and emptied it out).

    @Bill Marsden...Abby can answer your question when she gets home; she'll be back early next week.

    She'll get this all squared away when she gets back, I let her know who has sent what so she's quasi-aware of things. :)

    On a somewhat-related note to Phantom, since you ordered the most cookies (you've also lost the most :D) I need to know what kind of gift certificate to get you, since you were the wiener, err winner of the contest. And none of this "donate it to the Retired Yodelers Fund" horsepookey, this is yours to do something nice for yourself. :)

    Just glad I was able to help Lexie get some extra pleasure out of life. I'm assuming Abby got the funds okay, eventually. Best wishes for her as well, as I know it's a tough time she’s had recently (and to you too, b.t.w.;) ) Be expecting a few other odds and I have aide for ya both in the up and coming weeks. T.B.H., I would have sent them a lot sooner, but ill-health, being pretty 'down' in general and business commitments didn't let it work that way.

    We have KMart stores over in this neck of the woods, and no doubt yours as well, so that would probably be as good as any, since I occasionally shop there.

    Since I don't get to see my own daughter (11) nowadays, it was just nice to be able to brighten up someone else’s, that's all.

    ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
    @ G.T.:- Thanks for the well-wishes and good thoughts. Unfortunately, I ended up calling the ambulance (or someone did anyway), twice that week. Now I'm paying off the $1200 bucks in Ambulance bills - ouch! Such is life. :rolleyes:
  38. star17
    star17 MajorGeek
    Yeah we got it :)
    Kmart?!? Come on, you can do better than that. ;)
    How about I just Western Union it to you like you did to us? That way, you can get cold hard cash and go anywhere you want. I don't know if they still are or not, but Kmart was affiliated with Martha Stewart; you don't really want to put any of this loot in her pocket, do you? I mean, she's like the Drapery Gestapo or something evil like that. I combine plaids and stripes just to piss her off. ;)
    What's this business about an ambulance? Everything alright down there?
    I expect to hear you blew the money on a date or something....NO KMART!!! :D
    Ha, ha!. Well put it this way, I only just got out of avoiding some girl from the church moving into my joint. She was telling me about six months ago that the apartment she was living in was being sold, and couldn't afford anywhere else, yadda, yadda. So she came around to my joint a few times for coffee, 'cause she supposedly didn't have a car, and noticed I had a few spare rooms. I had to open my big yapper and say "Well, there if there is an emergency", thinking it was very unlikely to happen. :rolleyes:
    Anyway, I talked the owner of the apartment into not selling and I thought "Got out of that one". The she STILL wants to move in. <Argh!>. I'm pretty sure she had more than moving in, in mind, so I go see the owner again, and manage to glibly talk the owner into lowering the rent ("what a great tenant", etc.). So no more excuses to move in <*yipee!>. ...Or so I'm hoping. Not that she's not a nice person, and looks fine, just that I don't really want to go down that path, well not yet anyway. I think I'm out of the woods, at least for now.:eek:
    Back on topic: Yeah, I think about 60% of the stores in this city are owned by the one guy from over east. (All of KMart, BigW, Coles/Myer, Woolworths, etc.), so an estimated 40% of the retail dollar goes in the one guy's bank account. No wonder qualities gone down the drain for the most part.
    I've pretty much got into the habit of not expecting much, if anything out of life, so thanks for your thoughtfulness as well. 
    Re: Little 'joy rides' in Ambulance:- Yep I just about went belly up, and gave up the ghost, so to speak last month. Got the dizzy/fainting spell, and heart doing a faster pace than the Shuttle. Blood pressure went to 260/240, so ended up the first time in Joondalup Hospital with Diazepam, and some other blood pressure jazz going up each arm. Went home the next day, got prescribed pills to take morning and yet other in evening. Four days later, get up from the sofa, after watching something on T.V. then I get pains and tingling down the left leg and arm. I thought "this aint a good sign' so try to ring to local Dr., she says get the ambulance out right away. So I end up with Valium and Warfarin up my arms again. This time they take me Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. A much bigger joint, where I've had M.R.I.'s and such before. Turns out I had a blood clot, from an old injury moved as well. Luckily it didn't lodge in my noggin, only in a main artery. So I go home the next night about 3.00 a.m. I didn't wanna walk to train station and past the city cemetery, (which is conveniently next to the hospital), so I caught a cab with some spooky cabby, called Vlad (no kidding!), and looked and sounded like he belonged to the Russian Mafia.
    Anyway, the B.P's still high, but only about less than half of what it was, and is being checked regularly, so I should be around and kickin' for a while yet. ;)
    I've basically been told by the Doc. to slow down of I want to live much longer, so I take the 'hint'. I'll have to be dealing withthe mentally inept a whole lot less, I guess. :rolleyes:
    Anyway, enough of my shiz. Hope you and Abby are going along okay, and I'll be in touch one way or the other.
    Take care, all. :)
    Speaking of which, my wife is Swedish, sore point. Ah well. :rolleyes:
    That's not all bad Barry. You've been burning the candle at both ends plus in the middle for a long time. Take some time to read some good books, watch some good movies, spend some lazy time with friends. You now have a cast-iron excuse to be a bit "lazy".
    Thanks a lot, Gary. I do hope that you are managing to get more rest too.
    Believe it or not, I tried that one, and it was like "You really need someone to look after you." So I'm trying to project the image of good health, as far as she's concerned, and filling my spare rooms up with junk. (Sad but true) Anyway. I think I've 'escaped'. :rolleyes:
    Yes, good advice, there. Unfortunately, since I haven’t found a way of getting paid for nothing, still bills to be paid. I'm building up a legacy of (quiet a few) $100k, so that I'll at least be worth something to someone, someday, LoL!
    Also a good idea. Still a few people dependent on me being here a.t.m., but it won't be forever. Just look after yourself, and take care of No.1 so I CAN visit, kay? ;)
