Hey Phantom...sorry to hear you've had a tough ride recently, but really good news that the docs got on to it and are getting you sorted out. There's possibly a few of us in here with currently inexplicable health issues that should take a leaf out of your book before we get in to 911 situations, and start taking life somewhat easier. Sometimes we attack life with such vigor we forget we are not infallible.

    Look after yourselves :)

Update 2: Finally had some time to get over to the Post Office this morning...Sgt. Tibbs and Kodo, we've received your ransom and you both are free to roam the country. ;)

    Thank you both. :)

Abby will be back from New York tomorrow night and I'm sure one of the first orders of her business will be to get everyone's addresses and orders up to her daughter. I'n not sure, but I believe Abby said Lexie sold the second most cookies in the troop, and the kid is stoked, so thanks to those whom have particpated to this point.

I've received a few PMs from some folks that want to know if it is still possible to order, I believe it is but I've forwared the PMs to Abby and she'll take charge of it from here.

@Phantom: Barry, we're just going to send you a USG Money Order in the mail. And if you give a hard time over how you are gonna spend it, I'll send it postage due! :D

Woot! Way to go Lexie :D

And thanks Abby & Star for getting it all together for us hungry cookie monsters ;)

I hope Abby managed to get her family issues sorted out, or at least as much as possible. I.I.R.C., her dad was quiet sick - hope he's okay, and that my memory's functioning on that point.

I trust you're going well with work and all. Be better when "the boss' returns from N.Y., I guess. ;)

Cool bananas that Lexie is wrapped in her sales effort. Glad I was able to contribute there.

Ya mean that someone sold over 100 boxes of cookies? ("Holy Cookie Crunchers, Batman!") I was certain she’d sell the most (maybe I should have made it 160 boxes...errm on second thoughts, no.). Anyway, I have some items that she and the both of you will 'prolly like, so I have some posting to do, also (yeah, yeah, about time, I know). You'll have to wait and see what the 'Postal Dude' delivers, eh.;) All I'll say is that they are er, unique.

Thanks a lot Chris, but I really don't have a problem spending money (just ask my computer parts suppliers :p). Just that getting anything in return wasn't the motivation. I have an 11 y.o. daughter, and I know how much joy these kinds of things bring them. If Lexie's happy, so am I. I'll be sure to tell you what I blow it on, heh! Speaking postage dues, I hope that got covered.

Word is out, and I already have takers on the peanut butter and mint crisps. I'll have to hide some for myself real GOOD! ;)

    T.T.Y.L. ~Barry.

@ Lev:- Thanks for the good thoughts.:) Yes, a few old injuries and illnesses from a lot of years back have reminded me that they weren’t completely gone. Plus I’m not getting any younger. ‘Borrowed time’, maybe, but that’s life.

Her dad is feeling much better, back to whining about the Buffalo Bills latest losing streak I bet. :D

She called a little while ago and said it just started to snow up there. She's been having a loud time with the grandkids and I've spoke to all of them on the phone. Makes me wish I had a few kids of my own...NOT!! :D

Not sure how many boxes the winning kid sold, but if I even sniff a conspiracy that kids' family can count on some black helicopters landing in the front yard . ;)

And work is righteous; never in my tenure at the Cape has there been so much going on at one time with so many different programs. It's really exciting, but big ass rockets always are. :D

Please don't tell me you are mailing us a kangaroo; we have absolutely no room here for it, horizontal OR vertical. ;)

Glad both you and Abby are managing okay. Guess she'll be going south just at the right time to miss the white stuff (snow).

Nope, it aint a Kangaroo, although I nearly ran onto one last night on a country road. Those things mess up fenders and hoods real good, and they're nothing like the boxing mouse thing on Bugs Bunny. Speaking of which a rabbit wasn't so lucky, ah well.

I've been doing some work @ the University of W.A.'s Biochem Dept., installing some new hardware and software on their Varian Spectrta Atomic Absorption Spectrometers. The stuff's installed last week. I'm just waiting for all the "I can't get this thing to work" calls from all the Egg-heads there. Well, at least I'm a few thousand bucks richer (when I get the cheque, that is).

    G.T. R.I.P February 4, 2007. You will be missed.

@Star: Glad to hear Abby's dad is doing better, and that Abby has had time to romp with the grandkids. Being a long way from family can be hard, as I know myself. Family time is precious. As for you... never a dull moment. New projects must make your eyes light up. :) Sounds like the cookies will be some time getting delivered yet, which is a good thing. I'm flying out to be with my folks in California for Thanksgiving tomorrow, and was a bit worried that cookies would end up sitting at my front door all week. Sounds like that won't be a problem.

@Phantom: I admire your motivation to build up a legacy for "someday", but we'd druther have you around in person for a while yet. With what's ailin' me, it's not difficult to throttle back. My body simply refuses to get up and go, and that's that. With what you've got, the "early warning" signs may be fatal, or worse, simply be debilitating. A massive stroke could leave you here with us, but incapable of doing ANYTHING productive, which would be the worst possible way to end up. I had an uncle that went that route. He decided he was going to do what he wanted to until he died. Only he didn't die; he was just crippled.

And as far as "legacy", your kids and family are not a hopeless cause, even though you don't see any hope. I just got re-united with my son, totally out of the blue this year after 12 years of zero contact. I didn't even know what state he was living in. We've reconnected really well, as well as his lovely wife, who I didn't know existed, and if I can hang around until February, I'll be a grampa. If I'd died last year, I'd have missed all that. Trust me; the best legacy you can leave your kids is a relationship with YOU, not a pile of cash from a stranger. But you have to hang around until the opportunity comes your way. I know you've got to do what's necessary to live, and I'm struggling with that too, but take care of yourself, and listen to the doctors. You may miss out on some great things if you check out early.

Thanks Gary. Yes, I'm not about to be robbed of a single day of life I'm not entitled to, trust me. Your story and predicament, and the way you handle life and it's challenges does encourage me.

As for my son, well all I can say is that my brother has ran into him a few times, and he has shown interest in his family, it just hasn’t actually happened yet. Information is rather sketchy on that. Then there's trying to contact the rest of the former family unit. Pretty hard when doesn't know where any of them are, and they're all in different places. But one thing at a time I suppose. Time to get things I CAN control in order.

Hope you have great time in California with the parents. I can think of nothing better to be thankful for.

AS for my stuff. Well it's another year soon, and I'm damn determined that it's going to be better than the previous five.

    Take care, all. :)

oops my bad...sorry for not updating this thread...trying to get Christmas presents for all the kids made so haven't been on the puter much...Chris just alerted me to your inquiry Lisa..so I booted up just for you! LOL :)

Due to all my daughter had going on with Corbin and his broken leg, trying to still get some time in at work, Christmas approaching yadda...yadda...AND the Girl Scouts leaders work schedule they kept missing each other. Ugh... Anyway...we sent the $$ to her, I expect she should have received it yesterday or today. When I spoke with her yesterday morning she said she likely wouldn't get them shipped until next week due to her work schedule essentially being the same as the post office hours this week. She works in a pharmacy and her hours vary week to week. Next week she will work mostly evenings.

So sorry about the delay but I know she wants them out of there ASAP..she said she has been invaded by cases of GS cookies! LOL

Will update as soon as I know they are shipped!

I'm honored :D You booted up just for me...awwww *huggles*

No worries...not rushing you...I understand life can be crazy, especially this time of year anyway. Was just checking the mail man hadn't run off with my cookies :D

Good to see you Teresa.....seasonal greetings to you and Chris :)

Just out of curiosity...any word on when she might be shipping?

    Hi everyone! :wave

I am SO very sorry for not updating. I haven't been on the puter much..still have a lot going on. To make matters worse, my daughters phone has been out..they are STILL waiting on the cable company to come and figure out what the problem is with it. I broke down and called her at work...which I don't like to do unless it's an emergency...but hey..we're talking GS cookies here so that IS an emergency right? :D

She is defiantly going to the post office tomorrow to get them shipped. Between her work schedule conflicting with the hours the post office is open and still dealing with Corbin and his leg things have been really hectic for her. BUT! She has the day off tomorrow and says "I want my pantry back...those cookies have GOT to go!"

Will let you know as soon as I hear from her. If her phone is still out I'll ask my Dad to stop by on his way back from visiting my mom (late afternoon) so I can update y'all with confirmed shipping.

    Thanks for your patience.
    Huggles!

Well I have had a few impatient G.G. cookie munchers asking me about it. I just tell them to be patient, LoL. :drool After all, they could have ordered some themselves, eh. ;)

I hope you and Chris are doing alright, A.S. I do you you both have a lot on your plates, if you'll excuse the 'cookie-plate' expression, LoL! :yum

I GOT COOKIES TODAY!!!!! THANK YOU! :D

Sorry for yelling...I'm just too darn excited. :D

Of course, because my life is ALL about irony...not one but TWO of my nieces called last week because they're selling them (ours come in March 2). I had no earthly idea the little hellions were even in Girl Scouts, nobody tells me anything. Meh, whatever...my freezer will be stocked.

Don't tell my sisters I only ordered two boxes each from their kids, though. ;) :D
