Should i get rid of XP?

After my problems with windows Xp (dvd drive not workin, System hog, ect.) do you peoples think I should go back to 98SE? Which do you think is better?

Also, Is it possible to install 98SE ove the regular 98 without losing all my files?

XP is better. However......we don't know your senario. Did you upgrade to XP ? Or did you do a clean install of it ? Are your computers specs adequate to install XP ?

Its not a good computer. its a compaq laptop from 2001. I clean installed XP.

I'd recommend 2k pro, but then again I'm biased since I don't like XP in general...
