Should I give up on Vundo?

Hi,
According to Kapersky I have multiple versions of Vundo.

I was following the instructions on read me/run me. Everything seemed to be going well. The only problems were when I didn't unplug from the internet, firefox tried to start a few times during SpyBot S&D -and I wasn't able to immunize all the files it wanted.

Maybe my mistake is that I kept going ...I clicked the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware link, followed instructions; it ran fine, killed most of the stuff and said it had to take care of 3 registry entries during a re-boot ...so I clicked OK and now my computer won't re-boot. Usually I just get a black screen after a little start-up noise. I've manually shut it down 4 times, unplugged and drained capacitors, but the furthest I've gotten in start up is the black windows logo screen ...and then the blank screen.

So, I'm a computer dumbass, and I fully admit that I probably did something wrong (I dunno; your instructions were easy to follow...thanks for that!). Part of me is thinking "Hey, it's an 80 gig hard drive ...why don't I just get a nice new 150+ HD with a nice new copy of windows?"

Comp is a 3 year old Dell and the drive was 80-90% full.

Does this sound like a good idea?

PS: I do have an IT friend who will help me upgrade and I trust him.

Thank you so much for a speedy response.

I *might* try this if I have time, but I'm a "compu-idiot" so I decided to order a new 320gig HD since it was really cheap.
I was smart enough to grab all my most recent files on a thumb drive before I stated working ...and one thing I have learned over time is that I don't know how to work with computers so I better back stuff up. All my old files and music is on 2 other HDs. Let this be an inspiration to others!

Anyway, I am grateful for this site and the kindness and dedication that I've seen here. It is very generous of you guys to donate your time!
