show external device in XP

I have recently bought Sharp GX25 mobile with USB connectivity cable.

Installation/drivers : complete

Once I connect my mobile to the PC , I hear the sound " Device Connected " but it's not appearing in My computer as an external device. Mobile's software probably blocks it. Is there any way I can view the mobile in My computer or generally , access it ?

CD software for uploading to mobile has disabled some features. that's why I need to know how to view the device. Thanks

 

Unless it acts as removeable storage, disk drive, or imaging device, it will not show up in My Computer. AFAIK, drivers control what the device is recognized as, so it would have to be some sort of driver modification you would be looking for.
