I have Windows XP Home edition, Service Pack 2. Suddenly, the last 3 times I have tried to either shut down or restart, my computer freezes. Any thoughts as to fixing this? Thanks, David:confused:

Have you loaded any programs of late? Made any system changes?

At what stage does it 'freeze"?

The only download was Microsoft Media Player 11. No other changes were made.

If it only started after installing WMP11 which I think is beta, or recently released, not sure, go to the control panel/add remove programs & uninstall it.

If you still have problems try doing a system restore to a recent point.

Then try loading WMP10 & see how that goes. Download it first if you need to.

Edit/ just had a look and it is still beta which means install with caution.
