sign in/log in

I use windows 7
I am the sole user and the administrator
yet every time I turn on my computer/restart, I have to click the icon to sign in

how do I make the computer skip this step

I have tried to find the answer via google, and feel silly for asking, but it's so irritating

Start, Control Panel, User Accounts, in the Make Changes in Your Account , section,, click the Remove Password link, then in the text box in the next screen, enter your password and click, Remove Password, to confirm it is removed. Close User Accounts. Now you should be able to boot to the Win 7 desktop.

 

that was the key issue
I didnt have the option of removing a password since there was no password

seems to be loading straight to the main screen no welcome/log in screen at all
