Signin/signout database freeware

    Anyone have a suggestion for a "user" tracking program (prefer freeware - duh!) that will keep records of users signing into our lab, amount of time spent here and of course sign-out times ....with a few items to log with their personal info.

    I think this program, - The Lazy Admin, might be close to what you are looking for. And if so, you can contact the program's author and request a feature(s), that would make it fit for your needs.

    Close..but no cigar :))) ....I just need something to keep track of when and for how long a student is in the lab ...not what machine they are on. More sort of an attendance record that tracks hours spent in the lab.

    Do you have Microsoft Office? If so, what about using Access or Excel for this? Here's an Access template: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC010184611033.aspx Would that work, perhaps with some modification?

    Would each person tracked in this system be entering data into it, or would that be done by one person who maintains the records for everyone?

    Each "student" comes in and enters a #SSN which then "clocks" them in ...does reverse when leaving ...so we have a record of how many hours they have spent in the lab - part of our reporting process for funding as well as fulfilling their obligation to un-employment.
