    jarcher I can't handle a title

does anyone know what it is?
it is in my HJT log.. .
    under

    c:\a0331d325649d03a7e\SigStub.exe

tho the dir "c:\a0331d325649d03a7e" does not exist
nor can I find it in explorer, explore xp ,or using the search feature in win xp

I have "googled" the crap out if any possible variant I can think of. .
    to no avail. . .

the reason why in the first place
was because my avast display icon in the tray is no longer there, nor is avast running(or appear to be)
tho it is under startup in my log. . .

I have never heard of SigStub.exe!

If Avast is not working, uninstall it, reboot, and then reinstall!

    Has your license expired?

Could it be related to an update of your Avast virus signatures (like Sig = Signature)???

How is it loading in your system? Is it always there? Do you see it in safe mode?

Did you run the READ ME?

    I havent either

    I did uninstall and reinstall

    not expired at all

not 100% sure. .but I dont really think so. .possible

well. .it was loading as it should
till an update for the sigs and software made me reboot
it was there before the reboot, not after
and I never saw it in safe mode
unless I launched the program myself

and with the current issue. .no
same errors when attempting to launch manually
    (other than start up)

in startup. .it just wouldn launch

did do the read me and beyond

I did go to the avast website tho
and learned that the new update was screwy for some. .
I dont know if the two are related or not. .

I tried the "fix" the recomended
    again, no change

    http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=20819.from0#new

and I just got tired of messn with it

I will post back more of the results. . .

    thanks chaslang..

    still goin?

The below question was not being asked about Avast! It was in reference to SigStub.exe
We have all been too busy to get too much done on the HJT tool.
