Tokyo Game Show is starting on the 15th, but Konami's presentation is the day after...

 

It seems the announcement was yet another Silent Hill Pachinko (sp) machine.

I’ve been playing RE7 Not a Hero on Professional mode & just beaten it. Before that I played End of Zoe & beat all the difficulties.

 

Konami revealed they're remastering the first two Suikoden games. No mentioning of Silent Hill during TGS. Or Metal Gear Solid, for that matter.

I think they just said what they did to lure people to watch their showcase. "A new game in a world loved series" or something like that. They know fans are fond of seeing a new entry in a series that isn't actually Suikoden. So they milked it for all they could. And you cannot blame them, I guess. They've been slipping for years since the whole Kojima incident.

By the way, the Australian troll James is still at it on anxietyforum.net. Lately he has been logging into joyfreak.com more obsessively and then sarcastically quoting my posts from here and other forums to mock me, with his various accounts (GrimReaper, etc). Even impersonates me as thesaunderschild, which is my common user name elsewhere.

On JoyFreak, he also posts as Bur in a normal way, but for some strange reason, logs into a profile called "Rub" that's supposed to have been banned by the guy in charge - Aries.

I haven't contacted any law firm yet in Western Australia, as I would have to save up, then find somebody to take up my case. So he should really laugh it off while he can. He is breaking the law doing what he does.

When he posts, that's just more proof of his nonsense. Not to mention this guy's age. It's sad. But my mum seen his content a while ago after I showed her what a dufus I deal with online, and she referred to him as a screwball.

I wouldn't have this guy under your employ if I was in charge of the construction company he seemingly works for...

The DLC for RE8 releases on the 28th of October. Supposed to conclude the arc with the Winters. As much as I enjoyed Ethan's journey, I couldn't help but think 7 and 8 were "not really RE games" that much. It was still fun, but the timeline is advancing so much now, I worry Jill is an old lady by this point.

I really hope this next Silent Hill game isn't some lame gimmick where you walk around using a phone, to hype up some VR thingy. And it could just have Silent Hill related things in it. Because I know Konami is fly that way...

They may think that because fans have been starved of a new game for more years than is acceptable, that we would just take the scraps the master throws at us. It's not the game we wanted, but it is STILL a game - gotcha. Just to annoy the fans who eagerly want a proper game. Not the Dead by Daylight stuff either. Although that was a nice Jill and Claire tease.

Somehow, I don't think it is. But it is best to wait for a proper announcement.

 

I find that good as the DLC is set 16 years or so in the future. As the Winters’ arc is concluded any future games don’t need to be set in the future so we can see Jill, Chris et al without them being much older.

We’ll see if the game is for mobile or consoles. Unfortunately the name doesn’t inspire me so far.

 

I didn't get the whole Kojima thing either. His demo was generic AF. It was a spooky corridor, with an annoying ghost. Maybe the long forgotten ghost of one James Berich, perhaps.

Kojima is overrated. He didn't even have anything to do with the previous games, which were all mostly made by Team Silent. Yet people are always praising [Hideo] Kojima. Saying that he was the best thing about the franchise, when he wasn't. Not even close.

Even Akira Yamaoka deserves more appraisal. He produced and composed the awesome music.

 

The SH music is great. I have several albums of digital music.

 

The news has went quiet again. But with Halloween happening at the end of the month, don't be surprised if something crops up.

 

I’m sure the rumours will return.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if it was featured at this year's Game Awards. They know the hype for this series returning is huge with all of the rumours surfacing online, and now with Christophe Gans letting the cat out of the bag, it should only be a matter of months before we'll be celebrating.

They'll want to keep any major reveal for the biggest event of the year, next to E3 in the summertime.

The Game Awards is set to be held this year on the 9th of December, I believe.

The UK is expecting snow soon, and then Great Britain will literally become Silent Hill.

 

We can have very foggy days in the U.K. which reminds me of Silent Hill.

Someone’s manipulated the Silent Hill teaser & it does look like there’s a face in the fog, however to me & others it looks like the ghost from Silent Hills.

What if they secretly made amends with Hideo Kojima, and Silent Hills is set to live again? That would give them that 'break the internet' moment I believe they need, because they haven't done a thing with their franchises for years, outside of randomly plugging merchandise and gambling machines.

I still think an announcement this big should have been reserved for the 2022 Game Awards.

 

Hope so, that would be the reveal of a lifetime.

Perhaps, although having a reveal a day before Capcom doesn’t seem coincidental. Konami stealing their thunder so to speak.

 

I don't know the validity of this rumour, but I seen a post on NeoGAF where someone said the remake could be split up into two parts, since the plan may be to issue it as DLC initially, with the complete game likely being sold later on.

I think Konami is possibly doing this to get people to basically pay twice over. They're aware that fans are going to be impatient and probably get the online release first, since the retail copy will likely be months down the road.

I’m excited for SH2 & SH townfall. SH f seems too similar to RE Village except with red mold.
SH Ascension looks interesting

 

Well, it's technically a prequel as well. I don't mind prequel stories, but it doesn't look like a traditional entry we may have expected. Looks more like other Japanese horror games where you run around, use magic, or swords.

I was initially interested in Townfall. I was. But then I found out the people behind it made this game where you just make decisions in front of a TV screen. So it doesn't hold my interest any longer.

The same with the interactive one. It's just a game for fan engagement where they can flood the chat with awful spelling and trolling. It's not even a survival horror game, as such.

Not sure about 'The Short Message' that was rated in Korea recently either, as they didn't talk about that at all, and there is speculation it's just part of one of the revealed games, or it was quietly cancelled.

The remake of 2 looks interesting. But you know, it is not a "new game" as such. It's like they just repeated the original, but made it look modern. Some people have pointed out the lack of detail on the nurses. The forced feel of the beginning in the bathroom. And his stature.

 

Hopefully Townfall will not be about making decisions in front of a TV.
I had the impression ascension was the new name for Short Message as it seemed to show text messages so that may be a mobile game.

Yes, in the end SH2 is just an improved version of the original. No doubt it will have achievements/Trophies. The question is will Born from a Wish be included or released later as DLC - my thought is paid DLC.
Pyramid Head looks great, no doubt the Nurses will look better once the game is complete.

I wish they had showed some gameplay in the trailers. The graphics look good. But what game doesn't in 2022?

 

Yes, it would’ve been great to see how the games play even if just to get a feel of how good the game will be.

 

I seen new RE4 footage last night, and I think it looks better than the original. To be honest though, I feel surprised to say that because I was always picking on the original for being a deviation from the earlier survival horror aspects in the franchise.

However, the little pirate guy called Ramon, now looks like a woman. His hair is just too large.

Felt a bit bland. But at least it was free DLC. Unless anybody bought the gold edition.
