I have a home network of 3 PC's all running XP SP1. I can ping any of them from any location
    Two of them can share
files between them without problems. They can also access files on the
    third PC.

The third PC can't always access files on the other two. Access is possible only if Simple
file sharing is enabled, but Simple file sharing is always disabled again after reboot.
It is not possible to set Simple file sharing permanently under any account,
    including Administrator.
I have tried to set it changing Registry key, but it is reset
    after reboout too.

This PC is connected to the Internet using dial-up ISDN, and has Zone Alarm and Kaspersky
AVP installed. The access to the Internet from the other two PC's goes through WinGate,
    and it is working properly

    Thanks for any help.

Interesting, thats a new one to me.

Thought I had seen it all :D

Have you checked for spyware lately?

I'll take a look at this when I get to work, having internal ms kb access is handy ;)
