I'm currently in the process of following your malware removal guide: READ ME FIRST! One of the steps is:

"Work thru the below link and first uninstall any bad stuff that should not be installed on your PC. This may in some instances even resolve your problems.

    * Uninstall Malware via Add/Remove Programs

You MUST be sure that MSconfig is not being used to control Startups."

It's the last sentence of that quote that has me puzzled; Why is it so important to have your PC in normal startup? Besides curiosity, I also ask because I'm not sure I can get my PC to start in original, standard startup....

Because you could be hiding the malware from showing that we need to cleanup. In addition, MSconfig is not supposed to be used as a long term solution to inhibit any startups. It should only be used for debugging. Using it for long term methods leads to many problems including the inability to properly uninstall software because some aspects of it are inhibited with MSconfig. It also makes it hard for us to clean up the malware. In addition, if we were to allow you to use MSconfig, we will not even see the hiding malware and then the next day you could change MSconfig and the malware will load up and you will be saying that you got infected again.

What makes you think it will not start in Normal Startup mode? How much and what do you have disable and why?

I actually have changed msconfig to normal startup since my last post..it seems to be ok, but I still need to thin out the startup list....tooo many windows come up immediately... I was having a problem loading the desktop initially..thats why I was troubleshooting with msconfig, and, at the time of my post, was loading in safemode, with disk check and debug. I think its ok, as I said...the only problem that occurs is sometimes everything freezes..I cant even pull up taskmangr...so Im forced to softboot. I don't know if this is related to startup tho...I don't think so...u oughtta check out my post at answerway to bring you up to date...I wrote my @$$ off htere, before discovering you guys! In a nutshell, I have had SERIOUS virus prtoblems, along with a host of other annoyances....At last full check, I still had a few worms, a couple trojans, and a bunch af ad and spyware ( some of which I'm not willing to get rid of....not much valuable on this PC...except maybe the time I put into it! HAHA

If you are having malware problems, you need to follow all of the instructions in the READ & RUN ME and attach the requested logs. Otherwise there is nothing we can do for you. Also if you are not willing to fix any malware that we see in the logs, then perhaps you should not bother posting.
