My friends is trying to get Sims2 to work on her comp, but its not really happening.

Here is the site for the minimum requirements. She has a VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP chipset, which according to a few sites doesnt work with a lot of games.

Does anyone know whether or not its compatible with the game, or whether she needs to get a whole new card....?

Can you post any other specs? Might be helpful to us.

It would be best to give a better description of what happens and where it happens (i.e: Installing, running the game, playing.). As for the S3G chipsets, as it seems it's not supported by the Sims 2 or a lot of games for the matter simply because they aren't for games. To be honest even if it did work it wouldn't be much of a fun experience because you would get at best 5 FPS at low settings.

I think with today's games a video card is a must and even then budget cards barely cut it anymore which is really hard on some people who are just looking to play a single game or so and not really a gamer through and through.

Anyway if it's something we can help you with we will but, if not, we can if you want recommend a Card for you, barring what bus type the Motherboard allows.
