Sims 3 error no disc

I have new sims 3 game. Installed after a few probs and was playing ok on first day but now everytime my son trys to play it an error message no disc found retry keeps coming up. Have tried everything possible that i found on other sites to fix but nothing works. I have disabled security, checked for DLA software but dont really know what i am looking for, tried uninstalling dvd drive and reinstalling, have tried launching from program files in TS3, nothing working. I did get it working again yesterday not sure how but this morning "disc error" coming up again. Am getting desperate for help.

 

Am I missing some implied point here? The dvd drive disappeared?

Do you know what drive letter it is looking for? You can go into drive management and change the dvd drive letter back to what is was when you installed.
Uninstall and reinstall.
The other thing I'd do check this LINK or visit megagames and look for a pc-fix.

 

Is your son playing on the same computer you are, or on a different one?
