    Hello,

It appears I have Sirefef.P on my main machine and it appears my wife's laptop may have it as well. Mine is rebooting after a minute and hers is not, but she is getting the same redirects as me. After some research it appears people posting here tend to have the best success removing it. I appreciate the fact that you guys take the time to help so many!

I found instructions in several other threads to run FRST. I am attaching the log from FRST64.

I figure after I fix my machine I will correct my wife's laptop.

    Thank you,

    John

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

We need some additional info inorder to replace an infected system file before we can provide a fix. So please do the below.

Boot to System Recovery Options and run FRST again.
Type the below bolded text in the edit box after "Search:".

    services.exe

    Then click the Search button.

It will make a log (Search.txt) on the flash drive. Please attach this log to your next reply. (See How to attach)

    You're welcome.

Download this >> View attachment fixlist.txt

Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.
    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST64.exe on your flash drive.
Now reboot back into the System Recovery Options as you did previously.
Run FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (See how to attach)

Now boot into normal Windows can continue with the below.

Run the below process with MGtools and attach the C:\MGlogs.zip file

    Using MGtools
