I just downloaded the Sandra free software from this site because I am having problems on the internet and thought it might help. I tried to open the program on my hard drive, and it tells me it can't find microsoft.exe to open. I have used find ( in Windows 98) to locate on both my hard drives, and it says it is not there.

Does anyone have any idea what is happening?

Hey, thats really weird JT. Do you get a dialogue box, with an option of where to look for EXE ?

When I click on the SiSoftware icon a Program not found box comes up saying "Windows cannot find Micrsoft.exe. This progam is needed for opening files of type 'Zip File'. Location of Microsoft.exe: C:\ ," then a blank space. At the bottom when I clicked on locate, it shows me an outline of my computer.
I don't think I have ever had a zip file before.

Should I deleate the program and try to download from another site? I am getting alot of "sites cannot be found" and "errors on page" the last two days. It took me 8 tries to get a site to download from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My work is mostly on the internet and I need to fix this. This is the first message board I have ever been on.

JT, if Swatsharks thing wasn't it, after the C:\ try typing in cabs, so it's like this C:\ cabs Then click ok. See if that does diddly squat.

    Brian,

Thanks. I will see what happens.

I have a dial up too. I fell like I spend half my time going from page to page. I live in the country, and can't get a cable connection.

    SwatShark,

I do fine until I get to "browse to locate appropriate program", then I don't know what to pick.

    Brian C.

It is telling me it cannot find file C;\cabs.

Ok JT. Let me know how you make out. I as well have dial-up, because high speed isn't available in my town. Dial-up doesn't really have to be THAT slow. If you're having frustrating issues with the speed of your computer, and/or connection, you may want to go to pcpitstop.com ,and run the "full test" on your computer. Follow the instructions at the site as to how to get the test started. It will present you with the most comprehensive analysis of your computer, that I've found anywhere. It will also point out problem areas, and make suggestions on improvements to do. And will tell you how to do them as well. And best of all.......It's FREE !!!

Get the free iZarc program, it opens any and all compressed files very nicely. I use it now instead of Winzip....

It looks like you have a zip file there with nothing to open it... iZarc will open it for you

JT.......You wouldn't happen to have a Win98 disk, would you?
If not.....also try having it look in C:\WINDOWS or C:\WIN98
    or C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
Remember, the colon and backslash are very important. If not typed in EXACTLY, you'll yield no result !!!

Humm. I just THOUGHT if JT was missing a system file, it would be a good idea to find it,and get it back where it belongs.
    I dunno, maybe not?

I think Exeter, Robo & Swat have it nailed... win98 I dont think has zip compression/uncompression natively installed as part of the OS ( it is from WinME upwards )

so a 3rd party program will be needed.
