Site with an auto dialer--HELP!

I have this bug which keeps trying to auto dial (about every 15 minutes) a pay porn site. When it tries to auto dial, it places a shortcut icon on my desktop and in my start window. I have also been able to locate it in C:\WINDOWS\PROGRAM FILES\WEBSITEVIEWER. I have updated and run Spyware Blaster, Hijack This, and Lavasoft Ad-Aware 6. The other strange thing it has done is take over my desk top with an ad saying I better protect my computer now. Yeah right. Like I'm going to click on that. I cannot get rid of this stuff. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

I"M NO EXPERT!... but if I were you I'd unplug my modem just to be safe, those dials can add up to hundreds of dallors real quick. Also, I know from an expirence my brother had on the pc I got him a few years ago... some of the dialers can dial without your really seeing it. I'd unplug the modem until you get it fixed except for when you need it to get to this page for help.

Also, (again I stress I'm no expert and I'm here to get help from those who are all the time so follow my advise at your own risk) I would try shutting off system restore then running the programs you ran previously. Of course the very first thing to do is follow all the instructions in the sticky post at the top of this forum.

Generally, it is a good idea to start with the Cleanup Tutorial HERE:

There are only a few of us Volunteers who regularly offer advice in this forum. Running through the above Tutorial will remove a lot of stuff that would otherwise clog a HijackThis Log and save us valuable time.

Please let us know the steps that you are able to complete and the ones that give you problems. Note that you need to be in Safe Mode with System Restore OFF (if you have it) and have the Viewing of Hidden Files ENABLED as per the instructions in the link. Make sure to do the Online Scans.

Post back and let us know how you fared. Also, send us a HijackThis Log. Please be sure to follow the instructions below:

Note that your HijackThis should be up-to-date (v1.99) and MUST be extracted to its own safe folder – C:\Program Files\HijackThis!
Should you need a Fresh Download of HJT, get it HERE: HijackThis v1.99

Also note that, before you scan, you MUST close all running programs including your web browser, e-mail and items in the system tray.

Please save your HJT Log as a .txt File and attach it via the "Manage Attachments" tool in the Additional Options section when you post.

I was able to fix the problem by downloading and running the $39.95 "Pest Patrol" program. I haven't had a problem since.
