sites redirected, spybot won't run

I'm at my wits end. I'm trying to help get rid of some nasty malware on a friends computer. I have already removed a recycler trojan and dns changer with malware bytes but all the problems are still persisting.

1) Links after a google search are sometimes redirected to other sites eg...

(EDIT: Removed live malware)

2) Websites dealing with computer security, antivirus, malware, adaware are blocked. This also means I cannot update programs like ad aware and spybot.

eg.. Address is not found at - (Link Removed)

3) Some malware removal programs are not running.

-Hijack this will run
-MalwareBytes will run after renaming the run file
-ad-aware will run, but will not update
-spybot will not run even after renaming the run file


4. Safe mode will not load

I get to a screen filled with multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)filenames.sys

5. And to top it off the taskbar looks weird.

The start button is the green xp style, but its strangely pixelated. The rest of the taskbar is old school style gray.


I think i need to run smitfraudfix? But i can't get into safemode to run it.
If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. I can post any log files necessary including smitfraud fix, hijack this, and malware bytes
