While waiting for help on my previous thread, regarding AVG hanging and causing BSOD issues, things got worse. Was trying to run Kaspery(sp) online scanner, (had to disable avg to run it), It hung near the end of scan with a BSOD irq-not-less-or equal stop 0x0_0A error. When I rebooted windows was dust, PC would not boot into windows. XP option was missing only windows. When highlighted said windows could not load file <windows root>\system32\hal.dll. Would do the same in both normal & safe mode.

Had to do the ctrl-f11 dell pc restore thing to re-install XP.

After windows re-install, removed Dell supplied McAfee that is no longer supported when tried to update. Install AVG 8.5 with todays definitions, first scan hung near end of scan, BSOD page-fault-in nonpaged area 0X0_50

Re-start normal mode, installed mamb, first scan picked up one object, windows explorer error box popped up, avgscr.exe error box popped up, desktop flickered & the language bar re-appeared ( I had closed it earlier). Hard stop PC with power switch.

Re-start in safe mode, mbam quick scan showed two instances of mywaysa which were quarentined. AVG scan in safemode was slow to start. Partially ran, avgcsrvx.exe error box popped up saying problem had to close, started it again, scanned slow showed lots of locked files, no infections.

Reboot to normal mode, ran Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool, scanned clean on quick scan, started again on full scan partial scan BSOD pfn-list-corrupt 0X0_4E.

Attached is the avg safe mode scan log.

Prior to the kaspery (sp) crash, ran Dell diagnostics for windows bluescreens & tested clean.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated, before I drive over this thing!
