Sketchy hijackthis log

    I have some red files - conime, winsock entries and missing files but they dont go away when I fix them. Also, there are some purple ones too. I was having problems before with my anti virus crashing but since then I installed AVG, adaware, and Spybot. They only found tracking cookies but nothing else. Can you please see if theres malware//virus wrong and what I can do to fix it.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Unless your goal is to break your PC you need to stop trying to fix/delete things that are required/necessary.

    A HijackThis log (especially from a very out of date version) will not tell you if your PC is free from malware. If you really want a proper answer to that, the procedure below is what you need to do.

    Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.



    READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

    If you want our help, you need to follow the instructions already give. Those instructions did not ask for a HijackThis log. And you must not post any log directly inline with messages. Logs need to be attachments as explain in the instructions.
