Skyrim crashes to desktop

My friend gave me Skyrim the other day, and I installed it, started playing everything was going fine until I reached a certain point in the quest where you have to get the golden claw, I come to this bridge and the game just closes to my desktop no warnings, no error messages nothing. I check all my games against this. And it says that I blow the recommended requirements away. So I shouldn't have a problem. My brother has the exact same specs, just a bigger hard drive, and he has no issues.

Windows 7 x64 Pro
8GB RAM
GeForce GT640
MSI 970A-G43
AMD FX 6-core black edition
Any thoughts?

Turns out I was missing a patch it never told me about. It seems to be running fine now.
