I have been running the suggested cleaning tools for the better part of the day and can't seem to make headway on this thing.

I know there are supposed to be hijackthis files and bitdefender logs and all that jazz on here, and I will be happy to post those when the other machine is done crunching the data, but I want to know if anyone has run into this one yet: "backdoor.program.abz"

It's killing me, creating .tmp file after .tmp file as quickly as bitdefender 9 can quarantine one, another two/three show up...it's never ending.

If there's a quick fix let me know, otherwise I'll get the logs posted soon.

    thanks,
    s1mpl1fy

    OK...so here's the file:

For some reason, I told bitdefender to save the bdscan as a .txt, but it saved as an .html instead... I can email it to whoever might need to see it.

sorry, but as you can see, I'm having problems.

Change the extension from .html to .txt and attach the log. Need on from Panda ActiveScan also.

Well, because this notebook was only a week old and hadn't done a lot with it yet, I just did a full system restore from backup discs. Obviously, this fixed the problem.

Because of that all hijackthis files and bdscan files are gone, and I never did get to make a copy of the panda scan...I know there were follow up directions...just got too frustrated.

Anyway, does anyone know anythink about this trojan: backdoor.program.abz ?

It's a generic name. Different scanners give viruses different names.

IMPORTANT: THIS IS POST 1 OF 2 IN ORDER TO TRY TO FIX PROBLEMS, THIS ISSUE INVOLVES 2 COMPUTERS...EACH HIJACKTHIS LOG AND OTHER FILES WILL BE POSTED IN DIFFERENT POSTS...

    THIS IS THE LAPTOP POST:

OK...so, I tried doing a full system restore and starting from scratch, but the tmp files started showing up again.

I realized that my DESKTOP might have problems and that it is, in turn, infected my laptop thru my home network. So I've done full system cleaning on both.

I've followed the instructions to the letter...here are the files for the laptop. (Panda didn't catch ANYTHING for the laptop and I even tried running it twice to give me a report...it just won't generate one. Sorry!

    Hi s1mpl1fy!:)

If you have 2 computers that are infected you need to have 2 separate threads for it otherwise it will just cause confusion.

Go ahead and start a new thread for the other computer...if your post for the other computer gets in this thread before you read this I'll split the post off in to it's own thread for you.:)
