    Hi again.
Is it easy to 'slave' a 2nd HD? Do I use the same IDE ribbon cable for both drives and just set the jumpers? Any critical BIOS changes?
I really need step-by-step instructions or a link to same.
    Thanks!

Change jumpers on 2nd drive to Slave. Plug drive onto 2nd channel on the ribbon. BIOS should auto detect it. Watch the POST to make sure it's listed.

    that's it.

    Thanks, Kodo.
The master drive has WinXP. The drive I'd like to add as a slave is from an older computer with WinME (and a ton of my stuff). Will the computer load XP on boot? Will the slave be like an E or F drive designation?
I'd like to move my 'stuff' onto the master, then format the slave to lose WinME, then simply have the 8 gigs as additional storage.
This post may belong in the software forum, I guess, because after the slave HDD is installed the issues will be BIOS settings, navigating amongst the drives and basic file and folder management.
